We popped over to see Carole Christian and John and Bill Smith of Cairndinnis Alpacas, by Elgin, today and had a really lovely time chatting paca over lunch, visiting the herd and stroking their lovely three-week-old cocker spaniel pups.
It was really nice weather and we had a great tour of their amazing house and land, which is currently being fenced very professionally by a local firm. The fencers have the added bonus of being stared at very closely by the Cairndinnis males!
Sorcha was delighted to find some chickens which have just been added to the farm and are just starting to explore the garden a little after moving in.
Here are some pics of the main female herd and some adorable crias. I hope you will forgive me if I do not remember the names of the alpacas and babies - they are lovely to look at all the same.

We also had a good chat about fibre and oohed and aahed at Carole's beautiful collection of knitting yarns and knitted and felted items - hats, scarves, bags and even jewellery. They are all made from their own alpaca fibre and for sale on the
Cairndinnis website.
Thank you for having us and thanks for the lovely lunch! We hope to see you over our way soon.
