Llama rescue organisations in the US have been fighting tooth and nail to rescue these poor souls and rehome them. Thanks to a herculean effort, most of them have been shipped out to temporary farms where they will be brought back to health and eventually rehomed.
It's quite an upsetting read with various terrible injuries, overgrown feet, matted fibre, skin problems and all manner of other issues.
We love interacting with our three llama charges - with their gentle and clever natures - so we felt terrible reading about the neglect of hundreds of 'rescued' llamas across the pond.

It's just an amazing effort that's been put in by the llama and alpaca community. It is heartwarming to see what people will do to help the animals and each other out in times of need.
